48-613 (2605) This Connie was delivered as L-749A-79-38/C-121A to USAF MATS Atlantic in January 1949. Used in the Berlin Airlift and later converted to VIP aircraft as VC-121A. Became first C-121 with weather radar and also fitted with new engines (Wright YR3350-75) and short exhausts stacks, so called "jet stacks" like all the other L-749 where equipped with. Used by General MacArthur, named 'Baatan' painted over map of Philippines. Later inscribed by 'S.C.A.P.' (Supreme Commander, Allied Forces Pacific) over map of Japan. In use from September 1950 until his return to USA in April 1951
